Rebuild of 4 Wheel Monorail Blast Machine for the Foundry Industry

A client from the foundry industry approached DeLong Equipment to rebuild a 4 wheel monorail blast machine. We first removed the machine’s cast liners and the Lexan seals. We then re-lined the cabinet with a ½” manganese plate and installed 180 urethane finger seals.

The project, which was completed in 5 days and 12 hours during a holiday shutdown, allowed the customer to save time and money without negatively affecting peak production uptime.

Rebuilding this piece of equipment during holiday shutdown saved the customer time and money for uptime of the machine during peak production.

The re-lining of the blast machine will protect the high wear items in the machine from wearing prematurely and eliminate downtime for repairs during production.

The upgrade to urethane seals will not only improve the sealing of the machine, but cut down on the abrasive leaks and carryout from the machine.

DeLong supplied all the parts and service to successfully meet the job requirements and was on site for the entire project.

DeLong completed the shutdown project with the time and materials quoted and had the machine back up and running for the scheduled start up of production.
