Metal Finishing Services and Job Shops
At our job shops, we offer a wide range of metal finishing services to maximize clients’ profitability, productivity, and efficiency. Providing customized deburring, burnishing, and shot peening services, as well as many kinds of general-purpose cleaning services, such as mill scale, rust, and oil/grease removal. Our expert teams in Greenville, SC, and Atlanta, GA work closely with customers to ensure all finished pieces are reliable and durable.
Employing an eight-wheel monorail wheel blast machine, tumble blast wheel machines, vibratory bowls/ovals and dryers, and multiple air blast cabinets, DeLong works with only the most cutting-edge, quality finishing equipment.
Propelling loose abrasive media against work surfaces, DeLong’s air blast equipment is used for cleaning, peening, deburring, polishing, removing coatings, and otherwise improving metal surfaces. With the ability to provide various blasting velocities and work with different types of abrasives, we can handle both high- and low-volume production requirements for even the toughest cleaning jobs. Our high abrasive velocity capabilities allow for great impact intensity.
Extremely effective for removing rough edges and other surface flaws, this finishing method employs bowls containing abrasive media; parts are placed within the bowls and subjected to vibration for finishing. The team at DeLong makes use of a full line of vibratory finishing equipment for deburring, radiusing, descaling, burnishing, degreasing, and cleaning, as well as removing and inhibiting rust.
Our job shops can process high volumes of parts, and take the time to analyze different combinations of processing times, media, compounds, and equipment to ensure clients receive the best possible solution for their specific needs. Vibratory finishing is well-suited to many different types of metals, including ferrous, aluminum, zinc, copper, and stainless.
To provide wheel blasting services — in which a rotating blast wheel is used to throw shot, or grit, at a workpiece — we make use of four main types of equipment: tumble blast machines, table machines, spinner hanger machines, and continuous, or in-line, blast machines.
Tumble blast machines for batch processing range in size from 1.5 cubic feet to 34 cubic feet, and are available with rubber or steel belts. Table machines come in various shapes and sizes and are used for cleaning larger workpieces or structural pieces. Spinner hanger machines, on the other hand, are designed to clean parts hanging from overhead conveyors and are used for castings or large parts that cannot be tumbled. Finally, continuous or in-line blast designs, such as roll conveyors, wire mesh belts, and monorails, are appropriate for higher throughput and are available in various designs to custom fit the proper machine to your product.
All of our wheel blast machine are equipped with the latest technology, offering various speeds and configurations, and our wheels are specifically designed to improve performance while reducing maintenance costs.
